Puppy And Kitten Care

new-picture-56Vilonia Animal Clinic wants to help welcome your new puppy or kitten into your home! The early months are a critical time in your puppy or kitten’s life. Our vaccine protocol provides the best protection against the most common preventable diseases in young pets. Starting  your puppy or kitten on  heartworm prevention and flea/tick treatment is vital as our environment is plagued with mosquitoes, fleas and ticks.  Zoonotic diseases are common in puppies and kittens, but exams and intestinal parasite screens will help protect your new pet and your family.

Senior Pet Carenew-picture-621

Older pets make wonderful companions, and thanks to advances in veterinary medicine, pets are living longer than ever. Your senior pet has medical needs that are very different from puppies and kittens. Pets age faster than people.  Depending on breed and other factors,  dogs and cats are considered to be “seniors” around age 7. Prevention is the key to keeping older pets healthy, as symptoms of disease or a chronic condition many not be overtly apparent. We recommend all senior pets undergo at least one physical examination each year, though more frequent examinations may be needed dependent upon your pet’s individual health status.

If your pet is experiencing any changes in behavior, we urge you to bring him or her in for a check-up. Together, we can make sure you and your companion enjoy many more years together.
